Summer 2019 Record Fairs and 2020 Interim Calendar

There are three Record Fairs this summer, all in country towns outside of the city.

MOUNT GAMBIER RECORD FAIR

The Old Mount Gambier Jaol

The second Mount Gambier Record Fair is scheduled for Saturday 23 November, from noon to 5pm, at The Old Mt Gambier Gaol, 25 Margaret Street, Mount Gambier.

Traders from Adelaide and Victoria will be there as well as enthusiastic local sellers.  A fully licensed bar will provide refreshments all day, while local vendors will supply food & coffee, and local DJs will play music throughout the afternoon.  If it sounds like fun it is and reports from last year’s inaugural fair were excellent.

The cost of entry is $5 or $10 for early birds entry from 11am.

Mount Gambier is about four hours drive from Adelaide.  If you require overnight accommodation Steve can point you in the right direction.

ADELAIDE HILLS CD, DVD & BOOK FAIR

Malcolm and Andrew return for their 2019 Summer Sale once again at the Aldgate Pump Hotel, located at 1 Strathalbyn Road, Aldgate on 14/15 December.  Admission is FREE and the Fair is open between 8:30am till 5pm .  This is the final record event for 2019 and an ideal opportunity to buy that particular music gem to fill the Christmas stocking.  There are no early birds cherry picking the cream, so every buyer has an equal opportunity of finding that special item !

Both traders have been digging deeper into their collections to bring a fantastic selection of items for punters. Malcolm will be dropping prices on much of his stock including rock and jazz, plus introducing several boxes of fresh stock featuring artists of all genres. His selection of fresh CDs will be worth a decent search. Andrew is currently adding some exciting new stock to his crates and will also bring some newly acquired boxed sets and collectible singles.

This Record Fair is a cash only venue but an ATM is conveniently situated downstairs.

The Aldgate Pump Hotel is also renowned for its cuisine and wine.  To avoid disappointment make a booking early – phone 83392015.

PORT ELLIOT RECORD FAIR

Horseshoe Bay

The second Port Elliot Record Fair takes place on Saturday 11 January 2020 between 9am and 4pm) at the Port Elliot Institute, 164 The Strand, Port Elliot.  Last year the fair was held in Victor Harbor but the Port Elliot location should be far better.  The sea breezes are cooler and the atmosphere is balmy.  You are not far from lovely Horseshoe Bay or the fine eateries along the Strand in Port Elliot.

June long weekend (6-8 June 2020) – there are plans being made for a one day “Pop Up” record fair at Noarlunga (first time ever down south), but no other details are available at present.

August 2020 – Aldgate (date to be confirmed)

15/16 August 2020 – Music Palooza

5 October 2020 – Semaphore Record Fair (last day of October long weekend)

17/18 October 2020 – Walkerville

December 2019 – Aldgate (date to be confirmed)

The bi-annual Salisbury Record Fair is “having a break for a year” in 2020.
