Semaphore Record Fair No. 17

Well the football is all done and dusted.  Another season has flashed past.  The Tigers have enjoyed victories locally and in the AFL and the song has been sung with great glee in all of  Tigerland.  Summer is approaching and on the coming long weekend the Semaphore Music Festival takes over the beach side suburb, at the Semaphore Workers Club and at Harts Mill Flour Shed for four days and nights between 4 – 7 October.

And of course the Semaphore Record Fair will be held on the last day of the long weekend – on Monday 7 October at St Bede’s Hall, 200 Military Road, Semaphore (bus stop 44) just a short hop from the Semaphore Road / Military Road intersection.  The Fair operates from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and entry is free.  St Bede’s Hall and grounds provides  easy access for wheelchairs, prams and other mobility aids.

30 enthusiastic traders will have 50 tables of stock for sale, including vinyl records, CDs, music books & magazines, DVDs and much more.  The majority of sellers only accept payment in cash, however there are ATMs nearby in Semaphore Road.

This annual event is presented by Mr V Music, 115 Semaphore Road, Semaphore, the record store with plenty to offer, including live bands on the weekend.

At White Elephant Records we have been going through the crates and spicing up the sale collection and this weekend there is an offering of Pop, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Bluegrass, Soundtracks and Compilations Compilations Compilations, and the odd Surf album.  Something for everyone so see you there.

Oh! almost forgot, Luize and her helpers will be running the best little canteen in the west – pies, pasties, home-made cakes, coffee and tea and soft drinks – all at very reasonable prices – to fortify you on your hunt through the crates of vinyl, amidst the clack of CDs and rustle of music magazines – looking for that lost gem.

Only five hours left and 26,900,201 albums to go. Whoooeeh Geronimo!!!!!!!!!!!!
